This 646 square foot one-bedroom apartment is on the second floor of a 19th century building that overlooks the River Seine and has a direct view of the famous Notre Dame cathedral.
If you want to stay in the Paris Latin Quarter, apartments don't get much better situated than this!
The apartment is located on the Quai des Grand Augustins, on the left bank of the River Seine.
Right opposite the apartment is the Ile de la Cité, reputedly where the city of Paris was first established.
Looking out of the apartment window to the right, you can see Notre Dame, one of the most famous sights in Paris.
Walking out on to the Quai, on the other side of the road, you'll see the "bouqinistes", all selling second-hand books on a wide variety of topics. (We've picked up some very rare books there at reasonable prices.)
If you turn right, then the busy Place St. Michel is just a couple of blocks' walk away, and that's where you find the nearest Metro station.
One block behind the apartment is the Rue Saint-André des Arts, which is full of interesting shops, as well as a very passable creperie - it's not nearly as good as our favourite one, Creperie de Josselin in Rue du Montparnasse, but it is a great deal better than most of the touristy restaurants in nearby Rue de la Huchette, which are best avoided. (There are some really great restaurants, such as L'Ecurie, if you're willing to walk just a few minutes further away from the river.)
And if you're happy to walk a while downstream, you'll come to the fabulous Musée d'Orsay, the converted former train station which houses some of the best impressionist art in the world.
Also on Ile de la Cité are the Sainte Chapelle, a somewhat unique church with two chapels, one above the other, and the Conciergerie, which is where Marie-Antoinette spent her final hours before being executed at the guillotine at what is now known as Place de la Concorde.
If all of this local exploration is making you hot, then the best way to cool down is to take a short walk from Ile de la Cité across the bridge to Ile St. Louis, where you'll come across the wonderful Berthillon, home of the best ice cream in Paris - but be prepared to queue, as it's very popular!
We've barely scratched the surface of what's available within a short walk of this apartment; never mind what the rest of Paris has to offer.
In fact, writing about this apartment and some of the jewels of the 6th Arrondissement simply makes us want to return there ourselves!
Do yourself a favour and book yourself in to what could be the best-situated apartment in Paris now - you won't regret it.
